Alice Stuart was one of the first women to front a band not only as a singer and songwriter, but as a gifted guitar player. Her music is rooted in the blues, sometimes with traces of country and rock. Her songs have appeared on many other artists’ albums and in films. She has received awards from the Washington Blues Society for Best NW CD and Best Blues Songwriter and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004. Seattle Weekly honored her and her band with an award for Best Seattle Blues Band of 2004 and in 2005 she won the Seattle Weekly Award for Best Guitarist.
