Regret

Story Behind The Song

"Regret" was written as a follow up song to their debut release, "You used to be", (which has over 42,000 Spotify streams) and was about relationships others can relate to - friendship, love/break-up, separation, and hope.

Song Description

"Regret" makes you want to turn back time, have another chance at love, and erase your past mistakes. The chorus lyrics take you through the emotional cycles when one realizes they have made mistakes and regret their actions and behavior. It describes a relationship where the partners are not engaged at the same level. "You wish you could undo your mistakes You know you're the one to blame (one to blame) Want another chance to fix this mess Cause it's only filling you with Regret" The bridge swells with a surge of emotions, and the vocals soar through the sweeping melodies which echo the pain of heartbreak. "And I was alone with no one to hold (It hurt oh so bad) I thought you would come back for me (It's just never gonna be the same) I thought you were the one But you walked away from the situation Broke my heart into little pieces And now you're face to face in front of me saying (do you really regret it?)"

Lyrics

Verse:
You couldn't believe when you first heard
That I moved on quicker than you ever could
You left me first but you still call my name
It's just never gonna be the same

Pre-Chorus:
I ran out of every reason to take you back
When you left me it hurt oh so bad
You told me you needed space, you said it could wait
But now you're at my doorstep telling me

Chorus:
You wish you could undo your mistakes
You know you're the one to blame (one to blame)
Want another chance to fix this mess
Cause it's only filling you with
Regret

Verse:
Now that I've listened to what you've said
You should know that I can't forgive you now, friend
You thought it was fine for you to walk away
It's just never gonna be the same

Pre-Chorus:
I ran out of every reason to take you back
When you left me it hurt oh so bad (it hurt oh so bad)
You told me you needed space, I said it couldn't wait
But now you're at my doorstep telling me

Chorus:
You wish you could undo your mistakes
You know you're the one to blame (one to blame)
the one to blame
Want another chance to fix this mess
Cause it's only filling you with

Bridge:
And I was alone
with no one to hold (It hurt oh so bad)
I thought you would come back for me (It's just never gonna be the same)
I thought you were the one
But you walked away from the situation
Broke my heart into little pieces
And now you're face to face
in front of me saying (do you really regret it?)

Chorus:
You wish you could undo your mistakes
You know you're the one to blame (and I remember how we used to be)
Want another chance to fix this mess (cause it's only)
Cause it's only filling you with

You wish you could undo your mistakes
You know you're the one to blame (one to blame)
Want another chance to fix this mess
Cause it's only filling you with
