Tremendous Heart

Story Behind The Song

Folk/Americana Song about vulnerability and love

Song Description

I wrote it about the high desert, as well as a relationship. Some people told me that I had to go out to the desert right after it rains. I did, and it kind of changed everything - taught me about loving the small things and getting to understand the energy of the high desert. It also has to do with me being interested in someone, and those sensual experiences being wrapped up in my thoughts of the desert.

Lyrics

How do your hands know where to go
Hold my hips against the door
We're gonna take this nice & slow
& I'll leave you wanting more

Breathing in with you in time
As we push into the night
Coming in for a private show
& we'll leave this world behind

Take me out beyond the city lights
Drop your guard & honey open your mind
The night was once free but now it is yours
Give me lil' bit of your tremendous

Heart
Heart

Magnificently turned on
Wet & heavy as the ocean
I'm caught up in your under tow
It's pulling me from the shore

& takes me out beyond the city lights
Drop your guard & honey open those eyes
You can't hurt me - I've seen you here before
I'll cut you lil' slack with my tremendous

Heart
Heart

Give me little something to remember you by
No not just words on the page I need to feel your hands on me
I gave in now it's time for you to give something back please
But I don't want no pity
I don't want no pity

You're sorry, always sorry for what? Rockin' my tremendous heart
So sorry, always sorry for what? You're just assuming that I knew
So sorry wasn't the outcome we were both hoping for
I say, I don't need your pity
I don't need no pity
I don't want your pity

I wanted some heart
Heart

Oh yeah get me little bit of your tremendous heart
Oh get me a little taste of that tremendous heart
Oh get a little bit of that tremendous heart
Oh yeah, cut you lil' slack with my tremendous

Heart heart
