Lyrics

Upon gliding in, gripping in her hand my complete attention. Unrecipricating to the underlying advancement. She saw through me like a pane of unstained glass and passed on me like I was a thing of the past and kept on and moved on without me. And everything got real and still and sad. My eyes welled up, I had to turn my head. To my surprise I catch her turning around. Why is she walking towards me now? She has arrived to rectify my name. Without hesitation she turned to me and said, "You're not what I had in mind, not exactly what I call my kind, but just for this tonight you will suffice. You're not what I had in mind, not exactly what I came to find, but just for this tonight you will suffice." Assuring her she's made the best possible decision. And it takes a strong woman to change her initial intuition. I'm laying it on thick, but don't get her reaction. I thought she had taken the bait until she started laughing in my face. She said "don't flatter yourself. It's more to do about sympathy than anything else. Oh, I'm sorry did that hurt your feelings? Did it damage your pride? If it does then there's the door. What will you decide?" You're not what I had in mind, not exactly what I call my kind, but just for this tonight you will suffice. You're not what I had in mind, not exactly what I came to find, but just for this tonight you will suffice. I made her french toast for breakfast and even let her wear my favorite hooded sweatshirt. Left a fake number on the table and stole the last laugh. I have arrived to rectify my name. Before I could leave she was calling out my name. You're not what I had in mind, not exactly what I call my kind, but just for this tonight you will suffice. You're not what I had in mind, not exactly what I came to find, but all of the last night you more than sufficed.
