A song written in 2015 by David Hart; it sat dormant for a full year until it came to life through the outstanding arrangement by Scott Paterson and the accidental discovery of Cris Ruggiero who was invited to 'try out' the song
Song Description
Heaven in Denim, is one of 10 original tracks written by David Hart for the debut LP 'Renascimento' by The Occasional Angels, an Ottawa-based trio he formed in July 2016. The song pays homage to the rhythm and blues genre. The collaboration of Hart, Paterson and Ruggiero occurred accidently when Hart engaged Paterson to produce a solo LP for him; while searching for potential singers they stumbled across Cris, an unknown Karaoke singer from the area....she walked into the studio and blew everyone off the map with her take on the song - it was at that moment that Hart pitched the idea of The Occasional Angels to both Paterson and Ruggiero....within weeks they had a full LP of quality tunes recorded - the LP has been entered into the 2017 Juno competition in Adult Contemporary and Producer categories
