Lyrics
SLIM'S LOOSE
T. Edwin Doss
Copyr. 2003
My Grandfather used to have an 'ol bull, he put him out to stud,
Most the time he stood in the pasture deep in the Georgia mud.
His name was Slim and I do believe he didn't have a lick of sense
Lord help all those who lived out there if he ever busted through a fence.
Chorus
Save the children, guard the women, blow whistles and the general alarm.
Run the chickens inside the hen house,
Herd the cows inside the barn.
Move the tractor, close the gait, call the neighbors on the telephone.
If he gets out on the interstate, Lordy, it might be a little too late...
He'll be on the six o'clock news and cook our goose......
Slim's loose!!
The first time 'ol slim got away, he ran inside the K-mart...
They were 'runnin a "blue light special" on that velvet bullfighting art.
Slim didn't like those Matadors all dressed up in red...
Just like a bull in a china shop...
He tore that place to shreds.
One Sunday he ran to the Baptist church down on Fifth Avenue,
Just as the preacher shouted, "The Devil's watching you!!"..
'Ol Slim galloped down the aisle and snorted with a glare..
Three hundred sixty three members repented right then and there.
Chorus (shortened to: "Slim's loose, Slim's loose!!)
Once they caught him 'snoopin around the local 'tannin salon.
He tiptoed through several rooms where ladies had no clothes on.
They say the boys were 'cheerin as the girls ran down the street..
'Ol Slim's tongue was 'a-hangin out, as he nibbled on their feet.
My 'ol lady went down to the pasture, to watch him 'grazin there,
He took a special 'likin to her beautiful auburn hair. May have reminded him of the Hereford cow that always ran away..
Haven't seen my little 'darlin in twenty-seven days.
