Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song while sitting at the end of the bed with my fiancee. I played some chords and she helped me sort out the melody, which I think is very classic and beautiful. The song came together pretty quickly. It's about the commitment in a relationship, in this case specifically about our engagement.
Song Description
"Dive In" is an alt-rock song about commitment. The tune features organ, wah guitar, acoustic guitar, and 3-part harmony -- in a classic American rock/pop style.
On Tap, the DC-area's largest entertainment weekly magazine, writes, "[A]lt.rock-style gems like 'Dive In' that could easily come from a Jeff Tweedy side project."

Lyrics
He drove all the way to Baton Rouge
to buy her a diamond ring
He'd woke up that morning
to find that she was everything ?
the cradle of her bosom,
where he laid his weary head
Her laughter splashes on to him,
and he's swimming in her sweet caress
Can I feel you again?
This net of locks I'm tangled in
Ocean deep, silently,
dive in, dive in
She tempts you with her beauty (she's everywhere)
raptures the heart of every man
You dive in, she swallows you
You try to resist, but you fall in
Can I feel you again?
This net of locks I'm tangled in
Ocean deep, silently,
dive in, dive in
Across the threshold, into the sea
Breaking empty shells of what we're supposed to be
Sing marriage vows to Poseidon
Knowing his waves will set us free
Can I feel you again?
This net of locks I'm tangled in
Ocean deep, silently,
dive in, dive in
