Every Lonely Night

Story Behind The Song

I wanted to write a song in the old R&B style. I chose a twist on the love triangle as my topic. Recently I was able to team up with Grammy Award winning engineer Bob Stander and some great studio musicians such as Wing's drummer Steve Holley to fully realize the sound.

Song Description

He loves her, she loved another but that person has left the relationship and the two left are stuck. As the rest of the world turns and "restless tides" carry ships toward the setting sun she stands at the water's edge looking out to the horizon with tears in her eyes. He watches her in the twilight waiting for her to turn back to him and end the lonely nights

Lyrics

Saw you standing by the ocean
Teardrops in your eyes
Do you still think about him
Every morning
Every evening
Every lonely night

Out beyond the horizon
Ships sail toward the setting sun
Restless tides carry them away
Tell me darlin'
Tell me darlin'
Is he still the one

I stand here in the twilight
And I know how you feel
I will stand here waiting
Hoping you will turn to me

So we can walk hand in hand
I can dry your eyes
And tell you that I missed you
Every morning
Every evening
Every lonely night

I stand here in the twilight
And I know how you feel
I will stand here forever
Hoping you will turn to me
Then we can walk hand in hand
I can dry your eyes
And tell you that I missed you
Every morning
Every evening
Every lonely night

There'll be no more mornings
No more evenings
No more lonely nights

Song was out together well
