Story Behind The Song
I wrote this one for a 10th grade social studies class for extra credit. I never thought much about it and didn't ever play it until I started getting a lot of my classmates requesting it at my shows.

Lyrics
Understanding (4:05)
Written by Spencer Durham
Gonna catch that train out of this town
I got nothing left to lose
That old woman she got me down lord
Seems all I'm singing is the blues
Well I've lost all hope in understanding
There's no understanding that girl
Feeling tired, I'm feeling restless
Still I'm hiding from the world
CHORUS
Somebody come and take me away
You pick me up and then you drop me down
Just leave me where I lay
Catch me after I hit the ground
Oh cause I'm falling down
When you get this letter I'll be southbound
Rolling down those old steel tracks
But don't you cry no, don't you miss me
But don't expect me coming back
But I guess I can't erase the memories
Of the love that we once had
You'll be forever in my daydreams
If forever can ever last
CHORUS X2
I'm falling down
