notes on the lyrical content of this song:
it seems to me to be absolutely ludicrous that we, living in the 21st century, still believe that a mythical being that nobody has ever seen will relieve us of our responsibility and make everything right...
religious people believe that we are in the hands of god, (in whatever form that might take) (Inshallah!...a very common phrase in the moslem world)...I consider that to be shrugging off OUR (humans') responsibility...
we have yet to emerge from our childhood and grow up and learn to be adults, accept our mortality and TAKE RESPONSIBILTY for our own actions....
we are living in the DARK AGES when people still believe in religion...
My hope is that in time humans will become the true custodians of this planet; nurture it and love it as they would their own (sick) mother or child...
I trust that we are not too late!
Song Description
i started writing the lyrics about a thunderstorm and it turned into a song about the revolution that I hope will one day occur...one where humans learn to grow up and see the childishness that is religion...regrettably, it won't be in my lifetime!
the vocals and the feel of the song are akin to Kevin Ayers' recordings of about 40 years ago.
