Story Behind The Song
I had been noodling with a sketchy idea for an instrumental jazz ballad with a temp title of Lullaby. One Friday night i thought of the title Pleasant Dreams. I soon realized that it had to be a vocal song. Sunday I set down to work on it and the song poured out over the next 3 hours. It is a love letter to my father and Mother as well as the incredible artists who were playing on our am radio when I was 6 years old. Tony Bennet, Nat Cole, Sinatra and the rest.
Song Description
From time to time we encounter times of stress that lead to uneasy sleep. Hopefully we learn how to cope. This song outlines a few key philosopical epiphanies that have enabled me to sleep at night. Not least of all these, is sharing my life with my beautiful wife Irene.

Lyrics
PLEASANT DREAMS
In this world so full of wonder
I have traveled so many roads
Journeys lost have often found me
In the one place where I should be
So tonight - I'll sleep tight - pleasant dreams
In my time I've seen the folly
Of forgetting to laugh and play
Win or lose it's just a game
Ever changing yet still the same
It's alright - we'll sleep tight - pleasant dreams
In this life are many treasures
Some are buried down deep inside
Some I gave away and some have come to be
Like a blanket of love surrounding me
So tonight - let's sleep tight - pleasant dreams
So good night - hold me tight - pleasant dreams
