Story Behind The Song
I was reading something about Julius Caesar and the song just came to me. I wrote it on the piano, but then played it on guitar. Later I used a software synthesizer in Logic Pro X to get a different feel. The song doesnt fit inot the usual song structures, in that the first verse is longer than the others. I was going to change this, but I think it works as it is.

Lyrics
Julius: by Riley Savage www.rileysavage.co.uk
Julius is Pompey
Your spiritual place
Mars became your temple
A sacred space
A rubicon crossed in zeal
Then the Ides of March made death real
Life's theatre will unfold
Your destiny as history told
Cleopatra held your heart
Gave you a son
Cesarean was thrown aside
When a king to become
Chorus
Beware the Ides of March
Knives in the back
From priest of Jupiter
To a shrouded sack
If lives were valued
by tears mourners shed
Caesar would be lauded
As a king amongst the dead
Bridge
We don't learn from history
The past still bleeds
Time has not given us
The peace we need
Chorus
Beware the Ides of March
Knives in the back
If aeons along your memory's loved
No more could you ask
