Lyrics
I will upload the lyrics in Pin Yin along with the English translation in the near future, in the meantime I will explain the process of how a caucasian bus driver learned to sing Chinese love songs. First I was drilled by a Chinese instructor and a friend, thankfully, I don't know who else would have been so patient with me. Anyway, she was very strict on learning the correct enunciation of the Chinese vowels and consonants which are needless to say, very different from ours. You've heard the phrase " You're not holding your head right" well in this case it's your head, jaw, tongue and teeth. All work in precision to produce these very alien sounds. There was a lot laughter in the begining mostly at my expense. At this time I was given a book to study, the English alphabetized version of the language called Pin Yin. Next I selected the songs I wanted to learn based upon their suitability to my voice and style and according to their content. Of course the lyrics on a Chinese cd are in hierogliphics, " oh sorry Diana " I mean ancient and honourable Chinese characters which I would meticulously translate into Pin Yin so that I could read them. Now having the lyrics written out in Pin Yin I could memorize them for recording. Just so I wasn't singing babble ,I wrote out the Engish translation as well so that I would actually know what I was singing about. This was a time among friends, and a very enjoyable learning experience that I will never forget.
