Gone Too Soon

Story Behind The Song

I wrote this song after one of my students committed suicide.

Song Description

This song is very emotional. It is about the death of a young boy. I played it live at a memorial service for, coincidentally, another young boy who lost his life. The church was filled with tears.

Lyrics

Chorus:
Gone too soon, too young to be an angel, too young to understand
Gone too soon, memories of you so sad.

Verse 1:
Every little boy should one day be a man,
And every little dream should be all that it can
And every precious moment should stop the hands of time
And children should never have to cry

Verse 2:
We are left behind and you are far away
We pray and wonder why things have to be this way
And when we are alone, we cry and promise never to forget
Everything you were and everything you meant.

Bridge:
Castles in the sand, a lifetime that we?ll miss
We never said goodbye, Oh, oh oh oh.
