Forget The Bitter End

Story Behind The Song

I wrote this song over the course of 1 week. The hook was the first idea and then the verses took some more time to develop. I spent some time dealing with personal feelings so there would be true honesty communicated in the verses.

Song Description

This song took very little time in the studio. The composition was the struggle. I tried to make the music sound reminiscent of early 90's R&B songs where melody and harmony where prime focus.

Lyrics

Verse 1:
You know I cry myself to sleep each and every night
Can't seem to understand, it doesn't feel right
We've left so many words unspoken
And so many dreams been broken
It's so hard to comprehend, so let's Forget the Bitter End.

Hook:
Forget the Bitter End, I still love you you're my friend
Forget the reasons why and all the tears we cried
Forget the sad lament, and remember all we meant
Just for now, let's pretend...and forget the bitter end.

Verse 2:
You walked away with oh so many future memories,
Its out of my control but still I'm begging baby please
Don't let the emptiness erase
Nor the loneliness replace
Just let the broken fences mend, and Forget the Bitter End

Bridge:
Just wash away the pain, Only memories remain.
So forget the ugly past and let the good times last
Just for now, let's pretend...
