Story Behind The Song
Our singer wrote a bunch of song for his wife and one day a country singer called and asked if she could buy some of his songs... he set aside some of the songs he had written as gifts to sell and realized that it was a bad idea... this song came out of that experience as a new song of dediaction to his wife.
Song Description
This is a song of dedication and committment and also about not trying to be something you're not. The tongue-in-cheek 'country' aspect of the lyric is underscored with some real country-sounding elements

Lyrics
May these words I speak to you never be a lie
And the things I say I?ll do never pass you by
May I never sell these songs that I wrote for you
To a country star who sings ?em out of tune
Yippy yi yeah, yippy yi yeah
May I never leave this house with anger in my heart
May I never take my time when that time is yours
May I never try to be something I can?t be
I?m no country star and I could never sing
Yippy yi yeah, yippy yi yeah
May these hands that play guitar never make a fist
May I never strike a chord that?s striking out to hit
May the music that I play never make it in the hands
Of a country star and a country band
Yippy yi yeah, yippy yi yeah
Did you really think I?d go that far?
Leave this place and play some country bar?
Pack my bags my amp and my guitar
Did you really think I?d go that far?
May the voices at my back never be allowed
To keep you bottled up, to drown your voices sound
And the hope we have in store never saddle up
Like a country star?
