Teckel Race

Story Behind The Song

Starting from the title (a teckel is a dachshund) I wrote this tune and recorded it on my iPad with GarageBand. I later made the intro to it with some recordings I made of dachshunds, a gunshot and forest sounds.

Song Description

A dachshund race in the forest. This is a demo recording done at home on the couch with GarageBand. I will record this in studio coming month where I can have proper drums and bass and use guitar through a proper amp :)

By George I think we got something here - definitely 5 Stars for unique and original soundage - A+ of the quality of mix - all around great job - keep it uP!

Really like the composition and instrumentation and arrangement. Would make a good soundtrack for many film sequences. Definitely feel you are on a journey, almost by any physical means, and of course you hear the dogs like a sled race.Like the music sequences blending with other and gathering pace as it develops, then fold back on original melody.

What the heck is going on with the intro?? I'm not sure, BUT I LOVE IT!! Very unique that's for sure!! It has that sound from the film The Thin Man....I believe that's it? I can't check my musical facts, because the Broad Jam App won't allow me to leave this precious review site for fact checking!!!!!! Oh boys (Broad Jam)...you need to work on this flaw. Anyway, back to the review, great music, love the simplicity and overall feel of the composition!!

You never know what you're going to encounter when you review Soundtracks, but this one was a fun surprise. The intro was the big surprise: dogs barking, kids playing (which also appear in the outro). But the strong point in this song is the really catchy guitar lick that recurs throughout the piece. It's technically difficult to play, but this artist pulls it off beautifully.

The guitar playing is superb. The adding of layer upon layer is super captivating...as soon as you think you have the motif figured out, the Marshall stacks come in and throw the song on it's side. I can see a lot of possible marketability for this in TV/Film. The intro is super bizarre and cool, and the ending is epic!

Various genre elements present but my field of choice is World. Wow there is a lot going on here and all of it good!! Lot's of quality playing on this track. Musically challenging and delivered with smooth precision... there are great musicians. Nice drum track, great touch. Cool break time at 1:54! I like the little surprises this track dishes out. I REALLY dig the playing in this song, great job.... I like the way you 'go for it'!

Very cool sounding guitars, I also really like the sound of the drums and the beat. I like the bass guitar and how blends in as well. Sounds a little like Van Halen in a few sections.

Classic meets rock with intriguing results. Pizz strings and 'classical' guitar versus spectacular rock guitar riffs. Something a bit Sibelius-like about the ostinato-type figure. And everything framed by . . . well, a kennels and a starting gun - what could be more appropriate!

Nice instrumental in B minor. It develops nicely with lots of instrumental variation. I especially liked the pizzicato sections but not so keen on the distorted guitar improvisation, I felt the piece was strong enough and lost a bit of class when it was introduced. That apart the arrangement is well thought out and skillfully put together. I don't get the dogs at the beginning and end of the composition but it does not matter as I enjoyed it anyway.
