Story Behind The Song
Inspired by a picture of a beautiful girl sitting at a keyboard overlooking a valley from the hills in Los Angeles county. The picture was provided by Broadjam for 'A Visual - write a song about the picture', for the 6th can of the 6-pack competition. I've always had in the back of my mind the concept of legalized slavery to varying degrees throughout the world, and thankfully this contest helped bring it to fruition.

How reaching a dream, not only fully reaching autonomy and independence, but true economic freedom must feel.

Lyrics
Hollywood boy you've been good to me
The vis-à-vis well you just won't believe
As I play this song I'm grateful to be free
From the 9 to 5 legalized slavery
They say that dreams come true once in awhile
After breaking down on life's longest mile
When the vision that you hold sets you free
From the 9 to 5 legalized slavery
Don't you know you can make it to your dreams
Don't you know you can be anything
Hollywood boy you've been good to me
The vis-à-vis well you just won't believe
As I sing this song I'm grateful to be free
From the 9 to 5 legalized slavery
