A baby crawls in the dirt
Crying for some food or her momma
A little boy wanders a war torn street
Searching for a father he hardly knew

And I see everything

A weary family searches in vain
For a grandparent lost in some unnatural disaster
Bomb blasts and gunfire all through the night
And I watch it all and ask
What did I do?

Yeah, I see everything

Another desperate act
by Catastrophic Man
Another miscalculation

So they throw the weighted dice
And dance about and think they're winning big
Until they're reminded again
"Ain't no dice in this poker game, kids"

They scratch their heads in wonder

Another desperate act
By Economic Man

(Why does there have to be?)
Another miscalculation

Now you may live in harmony
Or find yourself in misery
Or rule the world by air and sea
Or veg in front of your TV

Now you may live in luxury
Or find yourself in poverty
But you must learn live within
The fear of Risk
And The Ambiguity
