Story Behind The Song
My husband, who served in the US Army for 25yrs, thought it would be a good idea to write a song about what soldiers and their families go through when they are deplyed-the missing, worrying and waiting. I had booked studio time before I wrote the song to put myself under pressure to write. Sometimes that's what it takes to get me to buckle down and commit to finishing a song. I ran out of time, but the day I was due to record, I wrote this song in the moring and me and my band recorded it that afternoon-whew! Sometimes pressure just works:)
Song Description
This song paints a picture of a soldiers last night with a loved one before he set off to war. The first verse is a portrait of the tenderness of just wanting to be together-holding each other. The second verse is about how important that goodbye is because there might not be a trip back home. The bridge is about the pain of that final goodbye- painted with military imagry. The chorus is a sing along type anthem that most everyone can hold onto-that "last call" feeling mixed with that "last chance" sentiment.

Lyrics
Last Call For Love
Chrous:
Last call for alcohol
Last call for love
Last chance to say goodbye
Kiss me my sweet
Last chance to sway that girl
To that smokey beat
Last call for alcohol
Last call for love
1st Verse
It's their last night before he's off to war
Yea, he's seen these tear drops fall before
"Hey girl, I'm be alright. When I come home I'll love you everynight.
But right now come with me here out on this dance floor-I'll hold you tight."
Chorus
2nd Verse
We get just on chance to go 'round this great big world.
Yea, you just don't know when it's your number comin' up.
It's time to post and make your mark,
This might be your last chance to give your heart.
The best we leave behind it the love we give,
So let it shine
Chorus
Bridge:
So you lock and load with a shot of whiskey,
Batten down the hatches of this heart,
Cause here comes, here comes the hardest part..
Farewell my love..it's time to part
Chorus
