There is a scripture in the OT book of Daniel Where the king has a dream and sees handwriting on the wall. He is told it means he has been weighed and found wanting.

The song is actually not only to name some things, but to show that all of us are are part of the problem...hence the verse about Jesus and the woman caught in adultery.
