Story Behind The Song
I got saved in a hotel lobby in downtown Dallas, Texas, back in 1986, while attending a Dr. Phil seminar, (yeah, the Dr. Phil of the Dr. Phil show).
The song was written not too long after that.
Anyway, the man in the first and second verse's name
Song Description
Lyrically, it's a little awkward, because I kept the first draft and didn't change anything. Little did I know, this would be the way all of the songs on this album where written. There's a lot between the lines... believe me.

Lyrics
A Prayer I Can?t Recall
Verse 1:
I met a man in the hotel that mornin?
We talked about the day
And then he asked, are you a Christian?
And I knew just what to say
Bridge 1:
And then he asked, ?Have you met Jesus??
And I could not agree
He shook his head and said, ?it?s not that way, you see?
Verse 2:
Somehow I think, he had no doubt
That he should then confess
Would you like to meet our Savior now
He knew I would say yes
Bridge2:
He asked if I would like to pray
A prayer I can?t recall
Suddenly, I knew, it was my day to fall
Verse 3:
I saw a friend that very next day
Who I?d known for many years
He knew I was a believer now
He could see it in my tears
Bridge 3: Out:
