Story Behind The Song
The songwriter Danielle Brittany had strong feelings for a gentleman in which she posessed great chemistry with. She felt all the stars were in line... but the guy never took the bait. She wondered why they were so well connected and nothing was coming of it. She wrote the song out of frustration for him. She later discovered he wasn't interested in women...
Song Description
The first verse of, "Rome," is a drunken love profession to a person the narrator is enamored with. It's stating they're feelings and how they can't ignore them. The chorus of, "Rome, " is basically the narrator saying, "Listen! I'm a great person with a lot to offer you!" And asking, "Why won't you give me your time?!" The second verse goes into saying, "Look I know I'm not perfect! I have flaws, but, I'm still good for you." The bridge is saying, "I know these things take time and maybe I'm being hasty but I wish you'd cut me a break." Rome is a great pop song that listeners can relate to in situations of unrequited love.

Lyrics
I've been thinking
and baby I know I've been drinking
but to me, my thoughts are clear
ask me what does it
the other guys know they can't cut it
it's all you my sugar dear
Chorus:
Why is it that I'm all alone
do you know
I'm going home
on my own
tonight
Why is it I've got so much love
love to give
but you don't want none
none of it
tonight
Verse 2:
I'm not perfect
I've done some things that I should regret
but I don't 'cause that is life
I fuss with my hair
I cuss you hate when I swear
but I love to say shit once in a while
(CHORUS)
Bridge:
I know they say
Rome wasn't built in a day
but ooh I wish it was
(Chorus)
Ended with half verse:
I've been thinkin'
and baby I know I've been drinkin'
but to me, my thoughts are clear.
