Chega de Saudade (No More Blues)

Story Behind The Song

Used to play this in the 60's when my trio was playing the Hotel on the Beach in Monterey, Ca. The feel was new for Americans and we had to use it as working musicians, later enjoying it, however this style has become an easy way to design one's first set, when working a Jazz-type gig. A Bass player[D. Hand?] wrote a book which included a chapter titled "Bossa Nova Madness" to emulate this habit. A musician from Trinidad showed me the way to Bossa Nova, and has become part of a visit there.
