You know how to get a song across... nice story.
Such a positive song terrific arrangement quality recording crystal clear vocals :-)
Very cute song.... And you mentioned a cat, that was perfect!! I really love the freedom of this song... how the tempo drops out and then you pick it back up. Like you have your friends over telling stories with a banjo, acoustic and fiddle. I just love this song, it has me humming along and enjoying your little diddie. I am most enjoying your vocal treatments. This is exactly what I want to hear when I review in "Folk". Splendid from top to bottom.... IIII waaaaaant toooooo.... Move out to the country... Sittin on a porch swing... somethin with a cat. Brilliance in simplicity, delivery and story.
Cute happy vocal delivery!
Reminiscent of Hee-Haw from days gone by. Minnie Pearl would be proud.I can see this as a "Children's Sing-A-Long song", maybe a daytime matinee show. None of these comments meant as derogatory or really negative. Quite the opposite. There's a niche for you...your style, content, instrumentation and voice are a perfect fit.
This has to be the unmistakeable Kate Carpenter. I like everything about this wonderfully quirky song. Reminds me of the late and much missed British singer songwriter Wally Whyton. As always, Kate's songs are beautifully crafted and timeless and this one energises a sleeping smile. I very much respect her talent and the personality of her songs.
I like the sound of this piece, sounds a lot like Ms. Kate - great message as well. The banjo really sounds great too. This is really a great children's song - sounds a bit like I'm a little tea pot.
This a really cute song. The lyrics and vocals are really good. I like it!!
clean good music well done keep doing what your doing
Like the vocals and feel of the song..entertaining and different...like that you rely on vocal qualities to carry the piece..
I really like this song a lot. It's clever, witty, but not silly. The lyrics flow very easily. No forced rhymes. In addition, there's an easy-going stop and go to the rhythm and for me that helps keep a song interesting. Don't know if mainstream radio would want to use it. Mainstream radio is too invested in cardboard cowboys. I think NPR and a lot of local and community stations would be interested in it. I don't know how original it is, but who the hell knows what original is anymore. There's very little, if anything, that hasn't already been written, sung, danced, etc. Anyway, I do like it.
