Story Behind The Song
Mileva Maric was a mathematician and physicist, the first wife of Albert Einstein, and one of the first women to study physics and mathematics in Europe. Maric gave up her career in science by 1901 when she became pregnant by Einstein with a daughter, Liserl. Lieserl's fate is unknown: she may have died in late summer 1903, or been given up for adoption. In 1903 Maric and Einstein married and later had two sons. They divorced in 1919. When Einstein won the Nobel prize for physics, he gave her the prize money, to support their sons and to acknowledge her part in his theory of relativity. Mileva's existence and her role in Einstein's greatest works were largely unknown to the world until recently, and what credit is due to her is a subject that remains controversial to this day. Mileva is part feminist heroine, part cautionary tale, but in any case a brilliant woman whose story should not be forgotten.
Song Description
A dreamy lullabye of a tribute to feminist heroine and tragic figure, Mileva Maric Einstein, with an arrangement reminiscent of Jane Siberry's songs "Love is Everything" and "Calling All Angels."

Lyrics
As a girl I put my hero's poster on my wall
That solitary thinker, an Einstein 8 feet tall
'Cause all that had come down to me was history's little lie
About a lonely genius with no equal by his side
Oh I / Keep asking why
Like every little girl Mileva asked a million whys
Inside four walls imagination let her spirit fly
She fell in love with Einstein, they discovered relativity
So many points of view to view from the viewpoint of divinity
Oh I / Keep asking why
Ch: Keep asking why
'Til you unravel all the questions of the universe
Keep asking why
Maybe your heart will un-break when time travels in reverse
Keep asking why
Things have to be the way they are until you open your mind's eye
Keep asking why
Keep asking why
In the still point there's a moment when everything is right
Your boundaries dissolve, your soul spills out into the night
You're a part of all creation, in his eyes you see the sun
Caught up in the light and heat, your sprits fly as one
Into that sky / Keep asking why
Ch: Keep asking why...
This is your story Mileva
I'll tell the world
I won't forget you Mileva
Tell every little girl
Keep asking why...
