Lyrics
Get Out by Michel Rae Driscoll 11/21/2007 ¢ 12/30/2007
He was a wife beatin', dog kickin', Son of a gun
There's no undoing the things he's done,
Well you can't undo, the things, done unto you
But you gotta live with the things that you do
CHORUS
It's a hard life, broken child,
thrown down stairs and watched your (ch. 1 "mother") cry
(ch. 2 "sisters") (ch. 3 "brothers")
Do you know what I mean, have you been been in those shoes
The life you get's not the one you choose, oh
Get out, get out, get out... get out, get out, get out
Well this young mother, she felt, she had no choice
6 little children, not one voice
A better life was lost, the day they met
Do they have to forgive what they still can¢t forget
CHORUS
It's a hard life, broken child,
thrown down stairs and watched your (ch. 1 "mother") cry
(ch. 2 "sisters") (ch. 3 "brothers")
Do you know what I mean, have you been been in those shoes
The life you get's not the one you choose, oh
Get out, get out, get out... get out, get out, get out
Freedom, freedom, yeah
Freedom rang, after 3 long years, he finally went too far
Broken and battered they piled, into the car
The only way up was out, he didn¢t know they were goin¢
Get out, get out, get out before he knows you're gone.
CHORUS
It's a hard life, broken child,
thrown down stairs and watched your (ch. 1 "mother") cry
(ch. 2 "sisters") (ch. 3 "brothers")
Do you know what I mean, have you been been in those shoes
The life you get's not the one you choose, oh
Get out, get out, get out... get out, get out, get out
Hurry Mama, get out, get out, get out before he knows you're gone
