Story Behind The Song
This was my attempt at writing a contemporary country song for Montgomery Gentry. In the end, I sang it and ended up with a woman witnessing the suffering of a man being treated cruelly by his mate.
Song Description
An acoustic guitar driven song of the "I'd treat you better than they do" nature as seen by a woman looking at a man who is not being properly loved.

Lyrics
I Wouldn?t Do That To You
She doesn?t treat you very good
I know a woman
Who would be more right
Someone to give you all she could
And never make you feel
Like you do tonight
Chorus
I swear, if you were mine
I?d never hurt you
I swear, I?d take the time
See your point of view
I swear, she knocks you down
Just to watch you bruise
I swear, I wouldn?t do that to you
Guess I could?ve had some better timing
But I?ve seen tears in your eyes
One too many times
My denial has been equal to your crying
It?s high time I said what?s been on my mind
Chorus
Bridge
She?s been nothing but one big heart break
What will it take ?til you see
When you?re finished with what she ain?t giving you
I?ll be here with all the love you need
Chorus
