Story Behind The Song
This piece was built around a keyboard idea that has been with me for years. The immediate work was motivated by the loss of the Columbia shuttle in February 2003...I find that musical work is cathartic for me in times of great public sorrow. The full orchestration on this one (strings, brass and woodwinds) is rather a departure for me...charming and lovely.
