Story Behind The Song
Inspired by my love of the Disco/funk style of Bernard Edwards, Nile Rodgers & Tony Thompson aka The Chic Organisation. Quite simply the funkiest rhythm section of all time. The music they made between '77 to '81 both under their own name or as backing musicians, producers and arrangers for Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, Sheila B Devotion etc. is amazing and totally awe inspiring to me. RIP Bernard and Tony, you truly move me. Nile is still bringing the house down live and I get to see him play just as often as I can. This is my personal tribute to the Holy Trinity of Funk.

Lyrics
Feel tha Funk
DJ turn it up
Til we can't get any higher
Feel tha Funk
DJ turn it up
Gonna set the night on fire
We pray to the Gods of the Glitter ball
Every Saturday night, Come join us one and all
and we don't stop dancin til the dawn's early light (that's right)
So stop the clocks it's time to party y'all
when the beat kicks in it's like a chemical
everybody goes crazy in the heat of the night
and we're gonna take flight
We sway to the groove every Saturday
When the weekend starts we come out to play
We don't stop 'til we drop we gonna party all night (that's right)
So let's get down, can u dig what I say?
Shake your thing on the floor, we'll dance the night away
To the sounds that go round and around in your mind
This is so outta sight
Feel tha Funk
Feel tha Funk
Turn it up!
Turn it up!
Feel tha Funk
DJ turn it up
