I left home for two years, when I came back I was a totally different person in some ways. I had grown up. But severeral people did not want to see the change and wanted me to be how they remembered I was. Additionally, addictions are a hard thing to brake. Your body is not very trusting and will not listen to anything except consistant behavior. Till, it it too finally understands that the change is real.

You can leave a place for a long time, change, but the people who knew you before the change won't let you be who you are now. The body is the same way. It takes time for any real change to occur.
