Lyrics
v1
in a cold dark dirty bunkhouse stood the holy man
selling his ideas to the slaves
who lie in waiting hoping for the grail
he's the answer the their prayers of being saved
v2
oh, nathaniel, is there something you done wrong
the bloodred footsteps tell a savage tale
but when freedom is the question and the lord is fast asleep
is it possible humanity had failed
chorus
he'll know angels he'll see their wings
he'll walk the gallows with the King of Kings
v3
now freedom is a number that he wears upon his shirt
evil doers will not offer him a grave
they all will pay the piper when their days are done
the man at the gate will give back all they gave
v4
but to the judge and jury everything was black and white
there was a noose hanging round his neck since birth
they all turned a blind eye from the sins they did omit
the hangman did not know any of his worth
chorus
he'll know angels he'll see their wings
he'll walk the gallows with the King of Kings
v5
he cried for those he buried those that once shed tears for him
and for them he offered up his soul
you can pay for your forgiveness for the sad times that you've sewn
with the maker of creations final toll
chorus
he'll know angels he'll see their wings
he'll walk the gallows with the King of Kings
he'll know angels he'll see their wings
he'll walk the gallows with the King of Kings
