Story Behind The Song
A little cowgirl music ...taking a romantic look at the life of a cowboy ... from the female perspective anyway
Song Description
This song is an ode to the elusive American cowboy, who seems to be a fast fading legend in a bygone era. Enchanted by the idea of this strong but gentle, steadfast cowboy, whose word is as solid as the ground he rides upon, making him more of a symbol of something real ... in a world that currently moves way too fast ... something that we're all longing to find: like a sense of connection (with the nature and animals), where all of God's creative works are seen & felt. It is with this song that I tip my hat to the cowboy I never have met, the one that I still believe in, whether he exists in the flesh or only in the chords of this old cowboy tune. I'm probably not the only one who has ever wondered where all the cowboys have gone? Or even if they are still out there? My heart wants to believe the cowboy still roams untamed and free somewhere beyond the city lights, where the land stretches wide and wild, and where a fella's best friend is still his horse.

Lyrics
The Cowboy I Never Have Met
THERE'S A COWBOY I NEVER HAVE MET
ON A HORSE SOMEWHERE IN THE WAY OUT WEST
HE'S GOT A BUFFALO BILL CODY SMIRK ON HIS FACE
LIKE HE'S UP TO NO GOOD AND IT'S TROUBLE HE MAKES
TRAVELLIN' UNDERNEATH HIS MONTANA MOON
IT'S HOTTER THAN A PISTOL THERE IN BOZEMAN IN JUNE
SO HE RIDES IN THE NIGHT ON A CHINOOK WIND
MAKIN' PEACE IN THE VALLEY ON A BUCK SKIN FRIEND
YELLOWSTONE GOLD WELL THAT'S THE COLOR OF HIS HAT
HE'D HAND YOU THE SHIRT FROM RIGHT OFF OF HIS BACK
A GENTLEMAN ALWAYS, BUT DON'T MESS WITH HORSE ....
CUZ YOU'LL MEET WITH THE DEVIL IN A HAT THERE OF COURSE
CHORUS
THE COYOTES HOWL .... WELL THAT'S MUSIC TO HIS EARS
WHEN THEY'RE PLAYIN HIS SONG HIS CARES DISAPPEAR
SO HE FOLLOWS THEIR MUSIC WHEN HE HEARS IT IN THE WIND
AND TALKS TO THE TRAIL BOSS WHEN THE LONELY SETS IN
CHORUS
