Story Behind The Song

I wrote this at a time when I was feeling like I hadn't achieved my full potential. I was 28, and already felt too old for the music business as an artist. I felt as if I had wasted years of my life with frivolous things and had not truly focused on my career. I felt that it was now truely time to forget about all of that and push forward, no matter what the cost and finally realize my dreams.

Song Description

Verse one describes a remorseful look back at one's life, seeing the "countless wasted days. The chorus is a realization that "It's About time" to take a risk, a leap of faith, anything in order to realize the dreams and goals that is rightfully theirs. Verse 2 is a realization that future dreams and goals are waiting "like a sunrise out across a distant ridge" and it's time to put aside the regrets of a wasted past "like water underneath a burning bridge." The verse also describes the risks that would be gladly taken to achieve said dreams and goals, walking on a wire or jumping across a firey lake. The bridge is a frantic realization that this race must be ran in order to achieve desired goals, and that one must jump at fleeting chances and opertunities before their gone. The last chorus reiterates the fact that the risks must be taken or one might die before they're able to realize their dreams and feal truely alive and awake: to put aside a wasted past, and breathe each breath like it's the last one.
