Story Behind The Song
The title of this song was suggested ("I Could Drink You Pretty," I think) by Marty Grasa, who is not a songwriter, but he had a great idea for a song. I rewrote the song from the viewpoint of a jilted bride. I've since slightly re-written the melody.
Song Description
Written the day after I had watched "In and Out," movie with scene of jilted bride drinking at a bar in her wedding dress. Not related to the movie story, but the scene gave me inspiration.

Lyrics
You could drink me pretty, I could drink you rich
You could pull me out of this emotional ditch
And it the bartender's call doesn't come too soon
I might forget this would have been my honeymoon
You could drink me skinny, I could drink you smart
I know you're not him, but could you play the part?
I'll be the one you wanted, you're the one who left
Let's have one more to pretend and one more to forget
When the lights go on
I'll remember
My baby's gone
Gone forever
If you'll drink me pretty, buy the house around
Help me make these sorrows drown
You could drink me sexy, I could drink you nice
We could fly to Vegas, we could roll the dice
I've still got my tickets and a wedding dress
I couldn't get myself in any worse a mess
When the lights go on...
Here's to these wasted dreams, we could drink to that
Tonight you won't be lonely and I won't be sad
And we'll drink to love with all we've got
Don't you think we both deserve another shot
If you'll drink me pretty buy the house a round
And help me make these sorrows drown
When the lights go on
I'll remember
My baby's gone
Gone forever
