Story Behind The Song
We all have dark thoughts that pull us down. This song is about no longer stifling these sometimes murky thoughts and feelings and liberating them, confronting them and making a conscious decision to rise above. This is a defiant song about not bringing yourself down.I wrote it about the more vague thoughts and feelings that seem to pull me down that I can't necessarily identify. Because of that, I think this song is relatable, because it can apply to whatever it is that gets in your way, personally.

Lyrics
it corners me while i'm walking/ you know how i hate to speak so let's get talking/ the sun is setting on my window shade/ but i haven't opened it all day/ it's some kind of melody/ i don't wanna run, wanna run anymore/ i hear it when i fall asleep/ so heavy in my mind that i can't pick up the sound/ some kind of malady/ let me out let me out and watch me fall/ we're sealing an envelope/ and i don't wanna go so low/ just leave me to go it alone, alone/ watch the stars drinking mercury in/ some beautiful kind of sickness/ i'll remember on my own/ that it's/ chorus/ a jail cell, a pretty face, these are the things we can't replace/ with cotton swab memories for shame for shame for shame for shame/ a read through / red herring. this is a voice unwanting/ i'll remember on my own that it's /chorus
