Lyrics

As I watch the days go by
Slowly, but somehow they fly
Can't accomplish anything while walking the tightrope

In a hurried kind of way
I try to work 'n' try to play
It's a wonder I get anywhere clinging on to threads of my hope

Where are the powers, the powers that be
Where are the powers, the powers that be
We look up to the skies until our hearts can realize
We're looking down on ourselves and see
That we...are the powers that be

If I must I'll follow you
'Cause all the writings tell me to
I'd rather walk beside myself than keep my distance

The legions in the aftermath
The multitude who are now ash
Have all been down that hallowed path of least resistance...tell me

Where are the powers, the powers that be
Where are the powers, the powers that be
We look up to the skies until our hearts can realize
We're looking down on ourselves and see
That we...are the powers that be

Some look to idols, some to gods
To fairly even up the odds
A wiser plan is locked inside your perfect imperfection

So sing your psalms my daunted souls
No matter how it all unfolds
Put down the scrolls 'cause you don't need directions...no, not when I tell you

We are the powers, the powers that be
We are the powers, the powers that be
We look up to the skies until our hearts can realize
We're looking down on ourselves and see
That we...are the powers that be...we see that we are the powers that be...

Woooo yeah...Some rock and roll here! A great rock song at that. With a current sound that lends undertones from the past, this song is big. Vocals that stand up to the strong instrumentation. A perfect song to just spin for a listen or for using as a closing tune on the big screen.

This rocks Big Time!! I love it. The instrumental is Kick Ass :) Very well arranged.
Would love to hear more from you.

great eery, almost religious (Kyrie Eleison) intro right from the get go. Nice build through the first verse to the more explosive chorus.

I really like the music arrangement on this song. It really builds the song and give your lyrics its true feeling. NICE!!

Oh man, this feels like the theme to a Super Hero movie, and a good one too. Love it. Rock on.

great intro, mysterious. Love the gothic style choir sound
Nice feel, good build up
great rock voice
Great work!

Good rock song! Very radio and TV friendly, it'd be great for a movie too. The voice reminds me of Neil Diamond. Pretty cool!

Nice dark and moody rock track, good performance , liked the vocal sounds used. and the instrumentation. powerful rock ballad that would suit a movie , very lost boys theme
i enjoyed it

Fantastic and haunting song that starts out soft and dark. But the chorus is uptempo and catchy, and a very nice work. Good sound production. The vocals are great and the singer is quite talented
