Story Behind The Song
I was visiting Florida for the 2nd time in my life. I wrote the song sitting on the beach in front of Aruba's, at the end of Commercial Blvd., in Fort Lauderdale. It was the first time in a long time that I was outside and barefoot.

Sitting under an open sky, by a drifting sea,
Just holding hands, with eternity.
I close my eyes and I float away,
Take an introspective holiday,
And see, all the things, that surround me.
You meet who you need to meet, see what you need to see.
You have the choice, how life's going to be.
And you can make it bad, or you can make it good,
I just wish I could, open my eyes.
People just want to be loved, I know I do.
We're all just trying to do the best that we can do.
You know I'd never want to hurt you, my friend.
Besides things just have a way of coming back, again.
I know a lot about you, because I've seen a lot about me.
And I know if you're not happy, you're not running free.
You meet who you need to meet,
You get what you see.
You get the chance to see both sides of everything,
And you can make life bad, or you can make life good.
It's ok with me, for life to be, good.
