Story Behind The Song
Like a lot of guys who are dance challenged, we often can't get up the nerve to get out on the dance floor. This song captures moment when a guy who overcomes his distress, approaches a girl and tells her he won't dance unless she'll dance with him. It is my story and lots of other buddies of mine.
Song Description
The song starts with an intro, much like Garth Brooks lead in to "Friends in Low Places". Guy strikes up a conversation with a girl who is obviously having a blast on the dance floor, and even though he admits he is outside his comfort zone (football and tractors) he is willing to risk looking foolish because he wants to be with this girl. He pokes fun at his possible ineptitude and wins her over by the end with a quirky sense of humor and his gentle persistence.
