Story Behind The Song
I always played the guitar or piano and sang songs to my four children when they were young. They seem to enjoy most the songs that were fun and had some humor to them. I sang many such songs but I did not have one that was in the Country style. Being a successful musician songwriter, I decided to write one and BYE BYE BYE BAD LUCK BLUES was the result. The song has all the qualities I was looking for: It is fun, happy, has some humor - and is encouraging to the listener.
Song Description
BYE BYE BYE BAD LUCK BLUES
By Joe Procopio
BYE BYE BYE BAD LUCK BLUES is a song describing the feelings of a country singer singing the Blues away. The Blues is melancholic music and the lyrics of this song express a kind of pensive sadness with no apparent cause; but the lyrics and the music however are uplifting and so the result is a song with a curious combination of feelings that result in feelings of joy, confidence and happiness.
BYE BYE BYE BAD LUCK BLUES is a Country Novelty song. Written for my children and recorded in Nashville.

Lyrics
BYE BYE BYE BAD LUCK BLUES
Joe Procopio
I used to walk the streets at night just talkin' to my shoes
Hopin' I could catch a break I figured I paid my dues
My job was gone my bills were long I didn't know what to do
'Till I met a man with 3 guitars who said I had the Bad Luck Blues
2. I asked about the 3 guitars and why one wasn't enough
He said he likes to keep things new and sometimes that was tough
He'd been around thru every town and stories like mine he knew
He'd sung for stars with fancy cars and people like me and you
Chorus:
Bye Bye Bye Bad Luck Blues
The old is out the new is in with a little help above
Hello Hello Hello I say to nothin' but money and love
Bye Bye Bye Bad Luck Blues
3. You mean to say your Green Guitar is better than your Black or Blue?
That all depends on people he said and the friends you're singing to
For some will take the day as it comes singing in the sun or rain
But those with their nose in yesterday grow a cobweb in their brain
Chorus:
Bye Bye Bye Bad Luck Blues
The old is out the new is in with a little help above
Hello Hello Hello I say to nothin' but money and love
Bye Bye Bye Bad Luck Blues
4. I'm telling you what he said to me when the road you ride gets rough
To make a buck you don't need luck and for lovin' and you do is love
From dirty bars to distant stars there is more to the world than hate
To set it straight and make it great give it all your heart can take
Chorus:
Bye Bye Bye Bad Luck Blues
The old is out the new is in with a little help above
Hello Hello Hello I say to nothin' but money and love
Bye Bye Bye Bad Luck Blues
Repeat Chorus and Fade
