Story Behind The Song
I was delivering Avon products to people's houses and one house had a folk art sign on the front door that said "Home Is Where You Hang Your Heart". I meditated on that for a while and wrote the song.

Lyrics
Home Is Where You Hang Your Heart
Sometimes we take for granted the love we have to share
Between a woman and a man or the children in our care
We let the world around us take control of our minds
Thinkin' that the grass is greener on the other side
Chorus:
That's why a home is so much more than mortar and stone
It takes a lot of love to make a house a home
If we build the foundation with love from the start
The joy that you can find at home never will depart
And home is where you hang your heart
Turn Around:
It's at home we find the courage we need to make it through
All of life's ups and down, it's joys and sorrows too
Livin' ev'ry moment with a power from above
Knowin' we can come home to a house that's filled with love
Chorus:
Bridge:
Home is where you can go to get away from the crowd
Where you hug the ones you love and let them know out loud
You can leave your cares behind if you leave them all outside
Home is where you hang your heart so hang it there with pride
Chorus:

If we build the foundation with love from the start
Home is where you hang, home is where you hang, home is where you hang.. your heart
