Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song about 10 years ago. I had just moved back to my hometown from Loisville KY. and found that i had changed a lot. All my old friends in this small city were still the same, doing the same things, in the same mindset. I was out of place and misunderstood by those i considered closest to me.
Song Description
This song is an original mix of styles. From the intro keyboard loop, the spoken word style verses and sung hook, to the southern feel of the lap steel guitar, this song has a style all it's own.

Lyrics
Wounded hearts grounded dreams
For often times the same movie plays the same old scenes
And I feel some friends have passed away
And I slip back in a not so easy chair and watch the day
Bring and take away (I don?t have time to breath)
A shallow machine like city (I don?t have time to need)
That?s left our histories selfish and corrupt (I don?t have time to be free)
And make my relationships bankrupt
(Chorus)
How long new
How long old
How long new
How long old
How long new
All along old
I can?t get through and haven?t come to terms
Yesterdays gone except to my thoughts
It becomes tonight
My kingdom inside
Sometimes crumbles down and wish that I would just die
My words do not pierce like I think that they should (I don?t have time to breath)
Invisible man to the invisible ways (I don?t have time to need)
Insomniac dream that keeps me at bay (I don?t have time to be free)
(Chorus)
How long new
How long old
How long new
How long old
How long new
All along old
