Lyrics

Tower of Babel
©J.C. Ashbaker 10-2012

Why does the river, flow down to the sea
How come the mountain, never comes to me
Where does the rain fall, when I'm feeling blue
Who can make the sun shine, nobody but you

---Chorus---
Drop me off at the Tower of Babel
And pick me up by quarter to ten
I'll listen to the sound of the voices unravel
Waiting on a world without end
---------------------

I can hear the thunder, as the clouds roll by
And I can feel the moisture, as it leaves my eyes
Cry, cry, cry
-Solo break-

--Repeat Chorus--

-Bridge-
Hurry up and wait, they're standing at the gate
Hoping there's something inside
All there is to see, is all there is to be
And all you've got to do is die
-------------
So I'll swim in your rivers, I'll fish in your sea
I'll live on your mountain top, if you'll live with me
-Solo Break-

--Repeat Chorus--

This is why we do this.... good inspiration....thanks for keeping the bar up...

Not a bad tune. I enjoyed listening to this song. Sounds like a nice live recording . The instrumentation sounded good and the singer has strong vocal delivery. Some cool guitar and fiddle licks throughout the song. What I liked the most was the deep bass vocal i believe during the chorus . Very cool!!

Really cool tune with a good steady beat and great song construction and instrumentation.

i dig the lyrics
well produced...
love the fiddle
a good hook as well...

This way fantastic! A real foot stomper!

Well constructed song with some great lyrical and melodic hooks all the way through the song. Great fiddle and guitar work backed up by solid bass and drums. Strong voice with an edge and some great doubling which really gave the vocals an added dimension
The recording is excellent and for me this is about as good as it gets and I really enjoyed the track

nice blues riffin. easy going, and good mix. would be interested in what daw you are using here. good overall playing and execution.

This is a good song with an interesting and entertaining lyric. Even though it's in the Folk/Americana category, there might be a place for it in the Christian music market. I could understand the lyrics, the music seemed well recorded and balanced, the arrangement solid.

Good Driving Song Nice use of instruments! Love the violin!
