Story Behind The Song
My sister recently retired and moved from Dallas to Tyler, Texas. I talked to her one day no the phone and asked what she was doing and she said was drinking tea on the deck. So I say, "Oh, it's tea time in Tyler". And the song was born from there.
Song Description
A good ol Texas boy who spent most of his adult life drifting around, finally finds someone to settle down with and drink tea instead of whiskey.

Lyrics
NO MORE GOODBYES (TEA TIME IN TYLER)
©JC Tubbs 07/2002 / key of G
Verse 1 I got lost in Lubbock
Went AWOL in Abilene
Went a little wacky in Waco
Things went south down around
Seguin
But then I woke up in East Texas
With you by my side
And now it's TEA TIME IN TYLER
And NO MORE GOODBYES
Verse 2 There'll be no more carousin'
Corsicana
You won't find me in Muleshoe
all messed up
No more getting' busted in
Bandera
I'll give you the keys to my truck
I won't be sleeping under San
Antone skies
Cause now it's TEA TIME IN
TYLER
And that means NO MORE
GOODBYES
Bridge I've had Texas Ramlin' fever
most of my life
And my heart's had an edge like
a Bowie knife
But when I tumbled into your
world
You made me realize
That the only place I want to be
is in that reflection in your eyes
Verse 3 I got lost in Lubbock, went AWOL
in Abilene,
Went plum wacko in Waco, love
went south down around Seguin
But then I woke up in East Texas
With you by my side
It's now TIME IN TYLER
No more kissing you goodbye
NO MORE GOODBYES
