Story Behind The Song
The song was inspired by the smell of wife (then girlfriend's) perfume 'Chloe' that would remain on my pillow. I would wake up to the smell, wondering where she was, what she was doing. As our relationship continued to progress, I wondered if I could truly make her happy, and ending up writing this song.
Song Description
A young man awakenss alone to the smell of the girl he longs for, wishing she were with him. He hopes and wonders if he has what it takes to make her happy. He calls out to her in the choruses, saying that although he can't create something as beautiful as a rainbow for her, he can at least offer her a good home, roses, and true love. Hopefully, that'll will be enough for her to say she loves him too.

Lyrics
"A Rainbow"
Words and Music by John Marble
V1:
I woke up this 'smorning Chloe on my pillow,
And blue skies out my window.
Oh what a wonderful view!
The only thing missing,
is you.
Ch1:
Oh a little sunshine and rain comin' up with a rainbow,
I'd like to say I made it for you hoo hoo.
But all I've got is a well placed window,Well love, hope that'll do.
Aah Aah Aah
V2:
I catch a breeze upon my cheek.Oh wasn't this the place, where you kissed me?
Oh what a wonderful day, If only I could see your face!
Ch2:
Oh a little sunshine and rain comin' up with a rainbow,I'd like to say I made it for you hoo hoo.
But all I've got is another red rose,Well love, hope that'll do.
Ch3:
Oh a little sunshine and rain comin' up with a rainbow,
I'd like to say I made it for you hoo hoo.
But I'm just sittin' here lookin' out my window hoping
(hoping that you!),
End: You love me too
You love me too
You love me too
(Say you love me!)
You love me too
(Say you love me!)
Baby you love me too
(Say you love me!)
Oh baby you love me too
(Say you love me!)
Oh baby you love me too
