Story Behind The Song
Looking out my window last spring I was intrigued by the dance of the butterfly.
As the daffodils peek out from the melting snow and spring emerges, it is almost like the daffodils are raising their trumpet like blooms to announce the arrival of Spring.
My co-writer, Thierry Coupey, has done an AMAZING job capturing the majesty of the "Butterfly Dance" in his musical arrangement. I couldn't be more pleased with his arrangement and the magical way it makes the lyric come to life.

Lyrics
Butterfly Dance ©2012 Janet Steely / Thierry Coupey
V 1: Butterflies majestic fair
Dancing in the air
Blooms of yellow shaded hue
Spring comes
Dancing on a prayer
V 2: Flying high and flying low
See them come and go
Butterflies on Daffodils
Are here
Where yesterday was snow
CH: Dance, Butterfly dance Butterfly
Yellow Daffodil stand tall
Raise your trumpet up to call
Dance, Butterfly dance Butterfly dance
V 3: Found your wings in your cocoon
Sunny afternoon
Flutter softly as you fly You're free
And not one day too soon
(chorus)
Bridge: Springtime floats upon the breeze
Whispers kindly to the trees
Winter's gone & Spring has come
Her promise now fulfilled
Of Butterflies
And Daffodils
Final CH: Oh Dance
Butterfly dance
Butterfly
Yellow Daffodil stand tall
Raise your trumpet up to call
Call, call for the dance
Butterfly dance (x3)
