Story Behind The Song

Having been born and raised on a cotton farm near Lubbock, Harry grew up working all summer in blue jeans and getting a tan only from the waist up. Nothing looked more ridiculous than a bunch of country boys in a public swimming pool or pond - tan from the waist or neck up, and lily white from the waist down. Thus the the idea for this song.
