Song Description

Slopes is a medium-tempo rock song with a good balance of dynamics and contemplative lyrics. The instrumentation is vocals, electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums, keyboard, and organ. Slopes was released in late 2018 on the Gocasual album All the Old Ghosts. Slopes is the first song we wrote in E Lydian. The song placed as a finalist in the 2018 SongDoor International Songwriting Competition. The judges praised the song saying, "The verse and chorus melodies are intoxicating ... we just wanted to get lost in them. Solid structure, perfect tempo - a great mix of hard rock and alternative pop that is really nice on the ears. So well conceived, excellent chord changes. Brilliant, poetic lyrics that speak to parts or peoples' brain that don't get a lot of exercise. Simply superb. The unresolved ending totally suits the song. VERY nice work!" Slopes also received an Honorable Mention certificate for the 35th Mid-Atlantic Song Contest.
