Why Did I Lose You/vocal Jack Green

Story Behind The Song

Originally written for the loss of my mom but I felt it was appropriate to the upcoming anniversary of 911. The Picture in Can 3 of the Six Pack reminds me of "Ground Zero, New York City" and has an eerie quality to it. Ironically we now face a barren city again because of the Covid 19. How Ironic It is a picture of a city of lost souls.

Why Did I Lose You (Registerd/Copyright)

Lyrics By

Felice Kaye-Cooper

Verse1

Why did I lose you?
The stars have vanished
The light has ceased to
Shine in my heart.

Verse II

I can not laugh again,
And tears have followed.
The sadness in my soul
Deepens every passing day

Chorus

If you come back to me,
The sun will shine forever.
Warming my days again
And filling all my dreams

No one can take your place
Or the memories of a lifetime
Even though you had to
Go away your love will always stay.

(Second Chorus or Bridge)

But if you come back,
My tears will turn to laughter.
Only joy and happiness
To know you are so near.

Nothing can take away
The memories of a lifetime
Even though you had to go away
Your love will always stay.

*(Musical Interlude-
The orchestra plays to second chorus)

(Second Chorus-lyric changes)

And if you come back
The world is mine forever
Gone the years of loneliness
Be-cause you are so near.

Nothing can take away
The memories of a lifetime
Even though you had to go away
Your love will always stay.

Last Verse and Coda

Why did I lose you?
The stars have vanished.
The light has ceased to
Shine in - to my heart.

Coda:

I can not laugh again
And tears have followed.
Only shadows fill my days,
Since you have gone away

Fine

Instrumentation is excellent. Vocal pleasant to listen to. There's potential for placement.

If he was still around, this would obviously be a song for the great Jerry Vale. Very mature song.

Really enjoy listening to this song. I know I have heard it before. The lyrics are very potent, the instrumentation is haunting, the vocals are powerful and honest showing the emotion of the lyric. I truly enjoy the whole production sounds like a Bond theme!

it is always difficult to loose someone. a yearning for them to come back is natural. a song myself and many can relate too. lyrics were excellent. vocals were good.
