Story Behind The Song
Someone broke into my apartment by kicking in the door, upon surveying the damage, I thought to myself that the thief kicked in the door to my apartment the same way that woman kicked down the door to my heart.
That gave me the first line to the song.
Song Description
Essentially recorde live, tries to capture a modern day "Blood on the Tracks" feel. Earthy, mid tempo, "I'm feel fine now because i've come to the realization that someday you'll get yours" kind of number with an alt country vibe.

Lyrics
You kicked down the door to my heart
Walked in, took what you wanted, and left
Well that's okay, there wasn't much worth takin in there anyway
And I know that revenge was part
Of your reason for the theft
And I know that revevge is just another one of the games you play
But no matter how hard you try
You can't ease your own pain by makin someone else cry
That's somethin no one's every been able to do
Tryin to mend your own break
By causin somebody else's heart to ache
Ain't gonna make no one feel better
Especially you
I don't know if you're just tryin to be smart
As you sail upon the ocean of love
And I don't know whose compass you're using to guide your way
But one day your ship will just fall apart
And sink down to the bottom of
The sea of pain you're trying to drown me in today
'Cause no matter how hard you try
You can't ease your own pain by makin some else cry
That's somethin no one's every been able to do
Tryin' to mend your own break
By causin somebody else's heart to ache
Ain't gonna make no one feel better
Especially you
